1 year anniversary of a healthier lifestyle.

I know I've been gone forever but I had to make a little bit of a comeback today to share with all of you my weight loss journey. Today marks the 1 year anniversary of me deciding that I had had enough of being so out of shape and overweight (my BMI indicated borderline obese) so I decided to finally dedicate myself to a healthier lifestyle.

I did it the healthy way. I started counting calories using this website and exercising 6 days a week. I didn't restrict myself or cut everything out, I stopped having "bad" foods as often as I did before and when I did have some I just reduced my portions. I wanted this to be a lifestyle change, and it has.

These were my results by December 2010:

After a year I have so far lost 33 lbs but weight isn't everything I also lost 7 inches off from around my tummy and to see how much that 7inches really was I took pictures:

I am so proud of how far I have come! I still have a way to go but at least I am finally a healthy weight.

  6. Wow! You encourage me to do the same (ok, I won't do workoouts 6 time a week because of my old athletic injury but I'd love to ignore the bad food monsters)! Thanks for this honest but amazing pics. The only thing I have to mention is that the website given isn't working.;-)

  8. good on you!

i started about a month ago making serious changes to my life, walking places instead of driving eating well and less, I felt better way before I noticed any physical difference and that told me I was doing the right thing :)

  11. That's amazing! That's such hard work and it takes so much effort and willpower to stick with changes like that. My best guyfriend just lost 60 pounds (and is still losing) and it inspired me to make some changes to my diet. I lost a few inches of my waist pretty quickly but without excercise I started to plateau. I really need to lose about 40 lbs and it seems like so much! Seeing your pictures makes me want to work harder and get active though. Thanks for posting this!

  13. Wow you look so great! Thank you so much for sharing this!! I've been on weight watchers for the last 13 weeks and I've lost 15lbs (I started out at 158lbs with a BMI of 31 and now I'm at 143). I recently decided to start working out, like a serious 45 minute work out, every morning to help me shed the weight a little quicker since I'm getting married in October and seeing these pictures really inspired me to continue!

Do you mind if I ask, what was your BMI in these pictures? I need to get to 128lbs to get into the healthy BMI range but I'm always so curious to see how what BMI looks like what and you look fabulous so I'd love to know :)
