New boots :3

I'd been looking for a nice pair of army inspired boots for a while now. Whenever I looked in stores they were always too girlified, or the bottom was flat with no grip, or they didn't have a toe cap and so on.

I decided to try my chance online and found this shop: Street Moda and these boots, the Nana Pole Climber boots:

The picture they used on their website is a stock picture that every other store that sells these boots also uses, but it is very accurate, my boots look just like the picture. This is what they look like on me:

Shipping was incredibly quick and cheap, they sent out my package next day with Fedex 2 day international. I bought them the 15th they shipped the 16th and I got them on the 18th. I was pleasantly surprised because the website says they use DHL and that it takes 15-45 days to ship to Canada but Fedex was used.

They are a little big on me but Nana does not make half sizes and I am a 7.5 so I ordered an 8, the 7 would have been too small so I wear big socks and they are fine. They are veggie leather so they are a bit stiff, also the sole is a little hard but I slapped in some Dr. Scholls inserts and they are fine now.

I have already ordered 3 more pairs of shoes from this store :P I am super worried about the fit which is always something to worry about when purchasing online, but at these prices I can easily sell them off if they don't fit, I paid 99$ including shipping for all 3 pairs.

Irresistibly Ivy Swatches & EOTD

After loving the Maybelline Eyestudio quad in Sapphire Siren so much, I went to Wal-Mart and picked up 2 more palettes. Today I'm showing you Irresistibly Ivy, and next time I'll be showing you Taupe Temptress. I may pick up Copper Chic or Give me Gold eventually.

Swatches are taken in natural light, no flash. They are applied by brush over a thin layer of Pixie Epoxy.

You can barely see the one on the far left but that makes me happy! It is the perfect brow highlighter for me when I just want a bit of shimmer but no colour, it matches my skin colour almost perfectly!

(Sorry about the pimples!)

What I used:

Eyes:
UDPP lid to eyebrow
Pixie Epoxy on lid
Maybelline Eyestudio quad in Irresistibly Ivy
  • Cream colour on brow to highlight.
  • Turquoise colour on lid.
  • Copper colour in and above crease.
  • Rust/brown colour used to darken crease and on lower lashline.
Sephora cream liner in Bronze Statue
UD 24/7 liner in zero on waterline
Maybelline one by one mascara

Face:
L'Oreal Studio Perfect primer
Meow Pampered Puss in Sleek Korat
Hard Candy blush in Living Doll

Lips:
Hi-Fi lip glaze in New Dreams

V-Day look!

Here is the look I did for Valentines day :) It was much brighter in real life and I have no idea why some of them came out so blurry :( But I'm pretty proud about how my blending skills are coming along.

Here is what I used:

Eyes:
  • UDPP lid to eyebrow.
  • Pixie Epoxy on lid.
  • Evil Shades Raven's Song patted on lid to keep sparkles then blended and buffed out upwards in crease with only black base.
  • Bright matte pink from some unnamed palette I got off Ebay a few years back.
  • Fyrinnae Moon Child as brow highlight.
  • Sephora Cream liner on upper lashline and waterline.
  • UD 24/7 zero liner on lower lashline.
  • Maybelline one by one mascara.
Face:
  • L'Oreal Studio Perfect primer
  • Meow Pampered Puss in Sleek Korat
  • Hard Candy blush in Living Doll (for some reason it never shows up in my pics grrr.)
Lips:
  • Evil Shades Stiletto
  • Milani 3D Glitzy Glamour gloss in Fashion diva.

Sapphire Siren Swatches & EOTD

After seeing Silhouette Screams doing a few looks with this palette I just had to try it out, so I picked one up. It is the Maybelline Eyestudio Quad in Sapphire Siren and it is LOVELY! They had some testers in store so I swatched it in store before buying it and I loved how smooth these are.

I will definitely be picking up some more of these palettes. I picked these up at Rexall Pharmacy here in Canada and they were $9.99. Rexall often has sales so I will wait for a sale to pick up more of these, I'll also be checking out if they are cheaper at Wal-Mart, I know at Zellers they were 2-3$ more which is stupid.

All swatches done in natural lighting (no flash) and on top of a thin layer of Pixie Epoxy.

This is the EOTD I did the day after buying the quad. It is a recreation of this blog entry again over at Silhouette Screams.

Sorry for the really crappy lighting the sun was setting and I still haven't figured out how to take nice, accurate, pictures without the use of actual sunlight.

This one is blurry to show you that these are very shimmery.

What I used:
UDPP lid to eyebrow.
Pixie Epoxy on lid and crease.
Maybelline Eyestudio quad in Sapphire Siren
  • White shade on lid and lower lashline.
  • Aqua shade in crease and above and on the lower lashline.
  • Navy shade to darken crease, outer vee and on lower lashline.
Maybelline One by one mascara.
Sephore black cream liner on upper lashline.
Sephora black kohl liner on waterline.

Concrete Minerals review and swatches

Hi as promised here is my Concrete Minerals review post!

Before I get started I just wanted to let you all know, when I say review it's more like "My Thoughts". I am no expert in makeup and I don't know much about ingredients and such. I just wanted to let you all know that the reviews I do are simply the impressions of a novice make-up lover, which is still good! :3

I ordered the review kit from Concrete Minerals a while back, I had first ordered their primer (which I will review in another post) and had received a free sample which I really liked so I thought I would give their other shadows a try too.

All pictures are taken in different natural lighting, no flash. All shadows swatched over a thin layer of Pixie Epoxy.

Top: Smut & Seance
Middle: Ruse & Detox
Bottom: Free sample Wicked

Blurred to show sparkly goodness.

You can get the shade descriptions from the Concrete Minerals store on Etsy but here are my thoughts:

Smut: this one is hard to describe, it's gorgeous. Sort of a taupe but pinkish-gold.
Seance: Dark purple almost black base with a flash of purple on top.
Ruse: A nice yellow gold.
Detox: LOVE this one I'd been looking around for a nice mint green for a while now! Almost matte with a nice sheen of delicate sparklies.
Wicked: This one make me think a bit of Fyrinnae's Faerie Glamour, but it shifts less dramatically. A nice purple base with blue sparklies.

(Sorry I'm not too good at describing shades!)

I really love all of these shadows, and I REALLY like that the samples come in jars instead of baggies (I'm starting to become overrun with baggies!). When I do swatches I often keep them on my hand for a while after to keep admiring the sparklies and to put them under test as far as staying power, these stayed for a good while even after brushing against a bunch of stuff.

Buy again?:

I would definitely buy again, I love all the shadows I got.

Side note: Am I the only Canuck having to now wait 2.5 weeks for stuff to arrive from the states? It used to take 1-1.5 weeks but now it's taking WAY longer.

Sorry!

So sorry I've been missing for almost a month now! I am SO busy with my University courses!
I have SO much to show you though, I am so behind! I have some Halloween shadows I haven't even gotten around to showing you! To be fair I did get them as a Christmas present but still! Here's some things you can look forward too when I come back (which I am still not sure when):

(These aren't in any order except for the Concrete minerals, I'll be doing that ASAP)

Concrete Minerals swatch and review
A reader asked me to review the Wet n' Wild cream liner so I'll be doing that.
LOTS of Hi-Fi swatches
Evil Shades Halloween shadows
Yves Rocher reviews
Meow Christmas swatches
More Fyrinnae swatches
Haus of Gloi pics and reviews
Shiro Swatches
For Strange Women, sort of a review but you can't really review scents as they are very individual.
Random pictures of hauls
And SO much more!

Also Rexall Pharmacy was having a 30% off sale of all lippies and glosses in store today so along with some cough medecine (I is so sick!) I came home with 5 new lippies! Oh and that Maybelline eyestudio eyeshadow quad that Silhouette Screams has been using on her blog lately. I'll try to get some lip swatches for you guys.

See you soon!
